The Signs of an Anxiety Attack

October 16th, 2009

Anxiety attack symptoms are what we typically experience if we feel sudden danger is going to happen.

Anxiety attack can be a very terrifying experience. It is a period of sudden and intense fear or discomfort, typically with an abrupt onset and usually lasting for no more than 10 minutes. Sometimes a person can experience a panic attack all of a sudden without particular reason. Most people that experience one attack will usually experience another attack, and those who have recurring attacks, or feel severe anxiety about having another are said to have panic disorder.

Various individuals report different symptoms during an anxiety attack. Some of the common anxiety attack symptoms are:

Palpitations, a pounding of heart, or an accelerated heart rate

Increased sweating

Trembling or shaking

Shortness of breath

Chest pain or discomfort

Nausea or stomach discomfort

A feeling light-headedness, or faint

A feeling of unreality

Depersonalization or a feeling of being detached from oneself

Fear of losing control or going crazy

Fear of dying

Numbness, or a tingling sensation

Chills

Feeling of impending doom

These are some of the possible anxiety attack symptoms. A normal person may experience one or more of these symptoms from time to time. Having to experience some of these anxiety attack symptoms is considered normal if you have reasonable explanations for them. But if you are experiencing them with no apparent reasons, it can be a sign of a more serious condition.

A person with phobia will usually experience an anxiety attack as a direct result of exposure to the things that trigger the phobia. These anxiety attacks are short- lived and quickly relieved once the trigger is escaped.

Usually an anxiety attack begins with an unusual bodily sensation from the anxiety attack symptoms. A person having an anxiety attack will then react, with fear that the symptoms are indicators of a much more serious threat and in turn reacts with more fear which intensified into a state of intense anxiety and panic. Cases of the possible situations where anxiety attack can occur are: when driving, on an airplane, crowded areas, or during sleep at night. Sometimes anxiety attack occurs in a situation where the person cannot exit easily from a social gathering, or in a meeting, but others may experience an incident of anxiety for no reason while in comfortable place or even in sleep.  Anxiety attack symptoms are more or less the same feelings we might experience if we feel danger is about to happen. They are signs of how we usually react if we are triggered by fear, worry, and concern. But, chill out! Fortunately, anxiety attack is not an illness.

Botox Side Effects – Should You Worry About Them?

October 16th, 2009

Botox injections and treatments are gaining popular through mainstream society these days. Women of all ages now use it to prevent lines, wrinkles and to enhance their appearance, and older women use it to reduce the appearance of wrinkles that may have already formed.

So, what about the negative side effects of Botox? Are there any? Even though botox has gotten some bad publicity over the years, we rarely hear anything about the negative side effects of Botox.

A Little Botox History

Way back in the 1820s, a German physician by the name of Dr. Justinus Kerner set out to find answers to the deaths of German citizens who had consumed sausage. Through is research he learned that of the many that died most had been overtaken by botulism – food poisoning. OK, so that means that one negative side effect to botox is death, although it is very rare and highly unlikely these days, but you should consult a licensed physician before undergoing any procedure.

Continuing his research, Dr. Kerner also distinguished seven different strains of botulinum toxin, naming them strains A through G. But he found that only four strains – A, B, E, and F – are life threatening to humans.

Mid-Century Development

During the mid 1950s and 60s, two other doctors, Drs. Edward J. Schantz and Vernon Brooks experimented further into botulinum toxin , using controversial animal testing techniques that could not be used today because of their cruelty and inaccurate results. Nevertheless, the two doctors found that botulinum toxin type A, despite its risk to humans, was very effective for treating people with crossed eyes and spastic vocal cords. So, ok, something that could potentially kill us can, in small doses, be helpful in relieving muscle spasms of all kinds.

The Birth of Botox

The Year is 1989, and the FDA approved botulinum toxin type A for treatment of crossed eyes and eye muscle spasms. Through a miracle of marketing genius, the botulism poison that had once killed German sausage eaters was renamed “Botox” and treatments took off like wildfire. Through further experimentation it was found that Botox also temporarily cured excessive sweating and some symptoms of cerebral palsy. After the botox treatments, patients were monitored closely for any negative side effects of Botox treatments.

A breakthrough in keeping us looking younger was on the horizon. In the 1990s, Dr. Jean Carruthers noticed that many of the patients being treated with Botox were surprisingly wrinkle-free. Using this information, Dr. Carruthers and her husband, a dermatologist, conducted various clinical studies that confirmed the ability of Botox to reduce frown lines and wrinkles on the human face.

Botox Now

Today, Botox is so widely accepted that you can go to a botox party and have your lips injected right on the spot. The fear of negative side effects is almost none existent. So much so that Botox Sales in 2006 exceeded $1 billion. Starting out as a deadly poison killer Botox has quickly transformed itself into a successful cosmetic treatment that helps millions of people look younger everyday.

Botox also remains a staple for non-cosmetic treatments, like reducing muscle spasms in cerebral palsy patients, uncrossing eyes, and relieving patients of embarrassing facial twitches and spasms. Botox treatments are not permanent and must be repeated every three to six months. Most patients are so pleased with the results that they ave no problem returning to the doctor regularly for scheduled treatments. The early fears of botox no longer prevail and although there are a low number of cases each year that result from negative side effects of botox, it is clear that botox is here to stay.

Excessive Underarm Sweating – How To Stop?

October 15th, 2009

I suffer from excessive underarm sweating, does anyone know good ways to stop this excessive underarm sweating?
If you have any idea please le me know.
Thanks

Hi

Excessive sweating is a common problem that more than 3% of the population faced with. It is not only a cause of embarrassment for the individual, excessive sweating can also create many problems with someone’s lifestyle as well.

Anyhow there are some great ways that can help you to reduce your excessive sweating.
here are some tips that were helpful for me to avoid hyperhidrosis:

Avoid Sugar

having high sugar level in your blood produces hyper activity and anxiety that can easily produce excessive stress, also meaning excessive sweating.

Don’t drink Alcohol

Drinking Alcohol causes the dilatation of blood vessels that result in an increase in body temperature and therefore excessive sweat.

Don’t Eat Spicy Foods:

Spicy foods are similar to alcohol, it makes the heart pumps more blood and therefore the body, to regulate itself produces sweat.

Choose The Right Cloths:

Don’t over dress, and in summer or any other hot weather avoid synthetic fibers. Use breathing fabrics like cotton. This will ventilate your body and void any accumulation of sweat.

Avoid Caffeine:

Caffeine is a stimulant that increases the anxiety. It could be found in coffee and other soda drinks.

Stop Smoking:

Smoking is also a vessel dilator just like alcohol.

Learn Yoga or Meditation:

A common cause for excessive sweating is stress. To avoid or reduce stress you must learn how to control it. Your best way to control is by learning meditation or yoga techniques. Mastering those can make a huge difference on your life.

In addition to these tips there are also many products and solutions for excessive sweating like botox, Acupuncture and Hypnosis.
Anyhow, there are two main problems with these solutions:

*Many of them won’t work for most of the people.
*Most of them are very expensive.

There are very few excessive sweating treatments that actually work and can help you to stop your excessive sweating in a matter of weeks.

Check this article for information about one of the best systems today that helped me to stop my excessive underarm sweating once for all:

How do you remove sweat stains?

October 15th, 2009

why do people sweat profusely when napping during the day?

October 15th, 2009

I asked a few friends to find out if they have the same experience and all do. Whenever I nap during the day, I am usually woken by the sweat covering my body. I normally wear the same things to bed that I do for napping and my thermostat setting is never changed. I wouldn’t be sweating if I was sitting at the computer or doing light housework, so why do I sweat through my sheets during a daytime nap?

It is a mechanism to keep the body from overheating, whether the defense is to something real or imagined

how to make my underarms stop sweating and stinky?

October 15th, 2009

how to make my underarms stop sweating and being stinky without deodrint? im not a fan of dodrint! sorry, no rude comments plz.

Every day wash your underarms with a good body wash. With those body scrubs. They’re really good.

Don’t over wash this area a lot because your sweat glads will over produce and you’ll sweat even more.

You can buy specially designed wipes and after sport or you think you smell bad, go to the toilets, wipe your underarms and wait a few seconds and apply some deoderant.

Use a good deoderant. I’ve found that men’s deoderants work better than girls deoderants. And smell nicer.
I know so many people who use it and are female.
Lynx is great.

Don’t wear the same top more than 2 days.
Eat healthy.
Drink plenty of water.
Stress less
